How Much Does the Audi A7 Cost

The A7 carries a base price of $69,000, making it one of the most

expensive cars in the class. At the top of the A7 ladder sits the

Prestige trim, which starts at $79,700. That's a middle-of-the-pack

price for the top trim of a luxury large sedan, and the Prestige isn't

even the most-expensive A7 model. That honor belongs to the

Audi S7, which is the A7's performance-oriented variant. The base

S7 Premium Plus starts at $83,900, while the S7 Prestige starts at

$89,500. Few class rivals have any models at that price point.

A7 Interior

How Many People Does the A7 Seat?

The A7 seats five people. Front-row occupants enjoy spacious,

supportive seats. The driver will appreciate this car’s stellar

visibility, as well as how easy it is to find a suitable driving

position. The rear seats have ample head- and legroom for adults,

but you may not want to put three people back there.

A7 and Child Car Seats

The A7 has two complete sets of LATCH connections for the rear

outboard seats, as well as an upper tether for the rear middle seat.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave this system its top

rating of Good for ease of use. The anchors are easy to use and

can’t be confused with other hardware.

A7 Interior Quality

This Audi sedan provides the posh interior you expect in a high-

end luxury vehicle. The cabin is sleek and attractive, and there are

top-notch materials everywhere you turn.

A7 Cargo Space

Few class rivals provide as much cargo room as this Audi, owing

to its lift back (hatchback) design. It gives you 24.9 cubic feet of

space behind the rear seats. That's enough room for golf clubs or

the family's vacation luggage. The rear seats fold down as well,

giving you the ability to haul bulkier items.

A7 Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone automatic

climate control, and the MMI infotainment system with an 8.8-

inch upper touch screen for infotainment and other primary

controls and an 8.6-inch lower touch screen for climate and

secondary controls. A 10-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, multiple USB

ports, navigation, satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple Car

Play also come standard.

Available features include quad-zone automatic climate control, a

digital gauge cluster (Audi's Virtual Cockpit), 16- and 19-speaker

Bang & Olufsen audio systems, a 10.1-inch upper touch screen,

and wireless device charging.

After some initial time getting familiar with the dual-screen

interface, you'll find that it's straightforward and easy to use. The

screens respond well to inputs, and both haptic feedback and audio

cues confirm when you click a virtual button. Aside from a volume

knob, there are few physical controls.

A7 Performance

A7 Engine: Plenty of Hustle

You have two power train options with the A7. The standard A7

features a 335-horsepower V6 engine and a seven-speed dual-

clutch automatic transmission. Or you can opt for the performance-

tuned S7 model, which comes with a 444-horsepower V6 engine

and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

With both setups, you'll find that this Audi feels energetic when

you hit the gas pedal. There's no shortage of power, regardless of

the driving situations you might encounter. The A7 accelerates

quickly, but the S7 takes it to a different level. It darts from zero to

60 mph about three-quarters of a second quicker than the A7 (4.5

seconds versus 5.2 seconds).

A7 Gas Mileage: Among the Best

This Audi sedan gets fuel economy ratings that few rivals can

match: 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The S7 isn't

quite as fuel-efficient. It gets 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the

highway.

A7 Ride and Handling: Both Impressive

Sure, the A7 is no sports car, but it won't force you to shy away

from winding roads, either. This Audi has composed handling, and

it feels stable around turns. It also delivers a comfortable ride, even

over rough roads.

A7 Reliability

Is the Audi A7 Reliable?

The 2020 Audi A7 has a slightly above-average predicted

reliability rating of 3.5 out of five from J.D. Power.

Audi A7 Warranty

Audi covers the A7 with a four-year/50,000-mile warranty.

A7 Safety

A7 Crash Test Results

The 2020 A7 earned the highest rating of Good in all six tests and

was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for

Highway Safety. Headlight ratings depend on the trim. The

Premium and Premium plus trims received the second-highest

rating of Acceptable for how well they illuminate the road ahead,

while Prestige trims received the worst rating of Poor. For its

standard front crash prevention features, the A7 earned the top

rating of Superior.

At the time of writing, the National Highway Traffic Safety

Administration has not crash tested the 2020 A7.

A7 Safety Features

Standard driver assistance features in the A7 include Audi Pre

Sense Basic, which prepares occupants for an imminent forward

collision by tightening the seat belts and rolling up the windows,

and Audi Pre Sense Front, which includes forward collision

warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.

Front and rear parking sensors and a rear view camera are also

standard.

Available active safety features include a surround-view parking

camera system, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, rear

cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning,

lane keep assist, and vehicle exit warning, which helps you avoid

opening your car door when traffic is approaching.

Audi Side Assist (blind spot monitoring), Audi Pre Sense Rear (it’s

like Pre Sense Basic but for collisions from the rear), and

intersection assistant are also available. Intersection assistant

warns you if it detects cars approaching from the side as you move

through an intersection.

A7 Dimensions and Weight

The A7 is 16.3 feet long. Its curb weight ranges from 4,332 to

4,597 pounds.

Where Is the Audi A7 Built?

Audi builds the 2020 A7 in Germany.

Which Audi A7 Model Is Right for Me

The Audi A7 comes in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus,

and Prestige. The performance-oriented S7 comes in Premium Plus

and Prestige trims.

While the base A7 comes well-equipped, most shoppers should

look to the Premium Plus trim for the best value. It comes with

additional features, and it offers technology that's not available in

the Premium trim.

The S7 has some performance features the A7 doesn't, but from a

comfort and convenience standpoint, it's similarly equipped. In

other words, there's not much reason to opt for the S7 unless you

want the stronger engine.

Audi A7 Premium

The A7 Premium sports a base price of $69,000. It comes with a

335-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, a seven-speed

dual-clutch automatic transmission, and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-

drive system.

Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone automatic

climate control, heated front seats, and the dual-screen MMI

infotainment system with a 10-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, multiple

USB ports, navigation, satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple

Car Play.

Standard driver assistance features include Audi Pre Sense Basic,

Pre Sense Front, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear view

camera.

The Convenience package ($950) adds a heated steering wheel,

Audi Side Assist, Audi Pre Sense Rear, and rear cross traffic alert.

Audi A7 Premium Plus

The A7 Premium Plus starts at $73,600. In addition to the base

trim's features, the Premium Plus comes with a heated steering

wheel, Audi's Virtual Cockpit, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio

system, wireless device charging, a surround-view parking camera

system, Audi Pre Sense Rear, and Audi Side Assist (blind spot

monitoring).

The Executive package ($2,000) adds quad-zone automatic climate

control, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The Driver

Assistance package ($1,750) includes adaptive cruise control,

traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, lane keep assist,

and intersection assistant. The S Line package ($1,250) adds a

sportier exterior appearance and a lowered sport suspension.

Audi A7 Prestige

The A7 Prestige carries a starting price of $79,700. The Prestige is

the highest A7 trim, and it comes with quad-zone automatic

climate control, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, adaptive

cruise control, a head-up display, intersection assistant, and traffic

sign recognition.

The Luxury package ($3,000) adds Valcona leather upholstery and

massaging front seats. You can also add the S Line package

($1,250) and an Adaptive Chassis package ($2,500), which

includes an adaptive damping suspension and all-wheel steering.

A 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen advanced sound system costs

$4,900, and night vision assistant with pedestrian detection can be

had for $2,500.

Audi S7 Premium Plus

The performance-oriented S7 Premium Plus starts at $83,900. S7

models come with a 444-horsepower 2.9 liter turbocharged V6

engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, an air suspension,

and all-wheel drive.

The S7 comes with front sport seats with added side bolstering, but

otherwise, its standard and features list is nearly identical to the A7

Premium Plus trim.

You can add an adaptive steel suspension for $350. The Luxury

package ($1,500) and Driver Assistance package ($2,250) are both

available. The S Sport package ($4,000) adds sport exhaust, a sport

rear differential, and all-wheel steering.

Audi S7 Prestige

The S7 Prestige is the highest trim of this performance-oriented A7

variant, and it starts at $89,500. Other than the S7's sport seats, the

standard and available features closely resemble those of the A7

Prestige.
