How Much Does the Mitsubishi Mirage Cost

The 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback has a starting price of $13,995, which is one of the lowest in

the class. The G4 sedan starts at $14,995. The top hatchback GT trim costs $17,295, while the top

Mirage sedan goes for $17,745. That's close to or less than the base prices of several class rivals

Mirage Interior

How Many People Does the Mirage Seat?

The Mirage can seat up to five people in two rows. The front seats

are roomy for a subcompact car, but their lack of support makes

them uncomfortable on longer drives. There's a decent amount of

head- and shoulder room in the back, but legroom is tight. Also,

you have to move up from the base trim to get an armrest for the

driver's seat.

Mirage and Child Car Seats

There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear

outboard seats, as well as an upper tether for the rear middle seat.

The system is easy to use.

Mirage Interior Quality

You get what you pay for in the Mirage, which isn’t much. The

budget-friendly Mirage is filled with low-rent materials and hard

plastics throughout its cabin.

Mirage Cargo Space

There's 12.6 cubic feet of trunk space in the Mirage G4 sedan.

Hatchback models have 17.1 cubic feet of space behind the rear

seats and 47 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. These

numbers are respectable for the class.

Mirage Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The standard infotainment system features user-friendly touch and

physical controls. The Mirage also has a solid number of features

for its price point. It comes standard with a 7-inch touch screen, a

four-speaker audio system, HD Radio, Bluetooth, and a USB port.

The upgraded infotainment system features a slightly smaller touch

screen (6.5 inches), but it gains Android Auto, Apple Car Play, and

a Rockford Fosgate premium audio system.

Mirage Performance

Mirage Engine: Disappointing

The Mirage features a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that produces

just 78 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard

and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is

optional. This Mitsubishi barely has enough power to keep up with

other vehicles on the road, and acceleration on the highway is

frustratingly slow. Also, the Mirage makes a lot of noise when it's

pushed hard, especially when it’s paired with the CVT. The only

good thing about this setup is that it helps the Mirage return

excellent fuel economy estimates.

Mirage Gas Mileage: Among the Best

The Mirage G4 sedan with the CVT delivers an EPA-estimated 35

mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. Hatchback models get

1 additional mpg in the city and 2 additional mpg on the highway.

These figures are great for the subcompact car class.

Mirage Ride and Handling: Maneuverable City Car

The front-wheel-drive Mirage's tight turning radius and small size

make it easy to navigate busy city streets and fit into tight parking

spots. However, you'll notice quite a bit of body lean when taking

corners, especially in hatchback models. And while its ride is

compliant over smooth pavement, it gets rather bumpy over

uneven roads.

Mirage Reliability

Is the Mitsubishi Mirage Reliable?

The 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage has a below-average predicted

reliability rating of 2.5 out of five from J.D. Power.

Mitsubishi Mirage Warranty

The Mirage is covered with a five-year/60,000-mile limited

warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile power train warranty.

Mirage Safety

Mirage Crash Test Results

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the

2020 Mirage hatchback an overall safety rating of four out of five

stars, with four stars in frontal crash, side crash, and rollover tests.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2020 G4

sedan the highest rating of Good in three crash tests, the second-

highest rating of Acceptable in the side crash test, and the second-

lowest rating of Marginal in the small overlap front driver-side

crash test.

Mirage Safety Features

The Mirage does not offer much in the way of active safety tech. It

comes standard with a rear view camera, and rear parking sensors

are available. Front parking sensors are optional in hatchback

models. Most rivals have more standard and available safety

features.

Mirage Dimensions and Weight

The Mirage is roughly 12.4 to 14.1 feet long. Its curb weight

ranges from 2,029 to 2,194 pounds.

Where Is the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage Built?

Mitsubishi builds the 2020 Mirage in Thailand.

Which Mitsubishi Mirage Model Is Right for Me

The 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage comes in both sedan and hatchback

body styles. Both variants come in ES, LE, and SE trims, and

there's also a hatchback-only GT trim.

The LE trim has the best combination of features and price, as it

adds Android Auto and Apple Car Play, as well as an armrest for

the driver's seat.

Mitsubishi Mirage ES

The entry-level ES hatchback starts at $13,995, while the ES sedan

starts at $14,995. Both ES models feature a five-speed manual

transmission and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touch

screen, four speakers, HD Radio, Bluetooth, and a USB port. A

rear view camera, remote key less entry, and automatic climate

control are also standard. The G4 sedan also has a rear-seat pass-

through and center armrest.

In both models, a continuously variable automatic transmission

(CVT) costs $1,200.

Mitsubishi Mirage LE

The LE hatchback has a starting price of $16,195, while the LE

sedan starts at $17,195. Both models gain a CVT, heated front

seats, a driver's seat armrest, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and

alloy wheels. The LE also comes with a 6.5-inch touch screen.

Mitsubishi Mirage SE

The SE hatchback has a base price of $16,745, and the SE sedan

starts at $17,745. Both come with a leather-wrapped steering

wheel, push-button start, proximity key less entry, and fog lights.

Mitsubishi Mirage GT

The hatchback-only GT trim retails for $17,295. It gains two-tone

alloy wheels and automatic high-beam headlights.
