How Much Does the Buick Enclave Cost

The 2020 Buick Enclave has a base MSRP of $40,000. That’s

higher than many midsize rivals but lower than many luxury

competitors. The Enclave's high-end Avenir trim starts at $53,800.

How Many People Does the Enclave Seat

The 2020 Buick Enclave seats seven people in three rows. Heated

and power-adjustable front seats are standard, as is cloth

upholstery. Upgrades include leather upholstery, ventilation and

massage functions for the front seats, heated second-row captain’s

chairs, a power-folding third row, and a heated steering wheel.

The first two rows are spacious and comfortable, and the second

row slides forward to allow easy entry to the back. Two adults will

be OK in the third row for short trips, but on longer journeys, that

space is best left for kids.

Enclave and Child Car Seats

This SUV has two full sets of LATCH connectors for the second

row. There are also tether anchors for each third-row seat.

Enclave Interior Quality

Despite some nice cabin materials, a few cheap plastics keep this

Buick from looking or feeling as upscale as some rivals.

Enclave Cargo Space

This vehicle has 23.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row,

which is pretty good for a three-row SUV. It has 58 cubic feet

behind the second row and a maximum cargo capacity of 97.6

cubic feet. These figures are above average for the midsize SUV

class.

Enclave Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The base Enclave Preferred comes with a wide array of tech

features. Its infotainment system has an 8-inch touch screen,

smartphone connectivity via Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a

six-speaker stereo, a WiFi hot spot, satellite radio, Bluetooth, six

USB ports, and Siri Eyes Free. Navigation, wireless device

charging, a premium 10-speaker Bose sound system, an 8-inch

driver display, and a dual-pane moon roof are available.

It’s easy to use the Enclave’s technology. There are plenty of

physical controls for commonly used functions, and the touch

screen responds quickly to inputs.

Enclave Performance

Enclave Engine: Strong and Smooth

The sole power train in the Enclave is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that

produces 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated

to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Enclave has a peppy

engine, swift acceleration, and a smooth transmission. The

standard engine stop-start system engages with minimal disruption.

Enclave Gas Mileage: Par for the Course

This vehicle gets an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg

on the highway. That’s typical for a midsize SUV. Adding all-

wheel drive reduces each figure by 1 mpg.

Enclave Ride and Handling: Gentle Cruiser

This Buick rides gently over most roads, and its suspension

absorbs bumps and potholes well before they can jolt occupants.

The Enclave is not athletic, but firm brakes and minimal body lean

help it stay composed. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and all-

wheel drive is available.

Enclave Reliability

Is the Buick Enclave Reliable?

J.D. Power gives the 2020 Enclave a predicted reliability rating of

three out of five, which is about average.

Buick Enclave Warranty

Buick covers the Enclave with a basic warranty lasting three years

or 36,000 miles and a power train warranty lasting five years or

60,000 miles.

Enclave Safety

Enclave Crash Test Results

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the

2020 Enclave an overall safety rating of five out of five stars. The

Enclave earned five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the

frontal crash and rollover evaluations.

At the time of writing, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

has not crash tested the 2020 Enclave.

Enclave Safety Features

Rear parking sensors and a rear view camera are the only standard

safety features in this SUV.

A slew of driver aids is available. These include lane keep assist,

lane departure warning, lane change alert, blind spot monitoring,

rear cross traffic alert, front parking sensors, forward collision

warning, pedestrian detection, low-speed forward automatic

emergency braking, high-speed emergency braking, a rear camera

mirror, a surround-view parking camera system, a following

distance indicator, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam

headlights, and front parking sensors. Also available is a safety

alert seat that vibrates to alert drivers of potential hazards.

Buick Enclave Dimensions and Weight

The 2020 Enclave is about 17 feet long. Its curb weight ranges

from 4,359 to 4,685 pounds.

Where Is the 2020 Buick Enclave Built

Buick builds the 2020 Enclave in Michigan.

Which Buick Enclave Model Is Right for Me

Buick offers the Enclave in four trim levels: Preferred, Essence,

Premium, and Avenir. Since they have the same engine – a 3.6-liter

V6 – the main difference between them is features. The base trim

comes fairly well-equipped in terms of technology, making it a

good pick. However, shoppers after more safety features, leather

upholstery, or all-wheel drive should look to at least the Enclave

Essence, as it’s the first trim to offer them as options.

Buick Enclave Preferred

The entry-level Preferred trim has a starting MSRP of $40,000. It

comes with an 8-inch touch screen, a WiFi hot spot, Apple Car

Play, Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth,

six USB ports, Siri Eyes Free, cloth upholstery, power-adjustable

front seats, heated front seats, proximity key less entry, remote

start, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Also standard are a

rear view camera and rear parking sensors, as well as a hands-free

power lift gate.

Although a few packages are available, they only add exterior

styling tweaks, such as roof rails or a chrome grille. AWD is not

available in this trim.

Buick Enclave Essence

The Essence trim gains lane change alert, blind spot monitoring,

rear cross traffic alert, and leather seats. It retails for $42,000.

Adding AWD costs $2,000.

In addition to the packages available for the Preferred trim, the

Essence can be outfitted with a moon roof for $1,400. A rear

camera mirror and surround-view parking camera system can be

had for $825. The Sound and Sites package costs $1,395 and adds

navigation, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, and a 10-

speaker Bose stereo.

Buick Enclave Premium

With a base price of $48,400, the Buick Enclave Premium picks up

a 10-speaker Bose stereo, a 120-volt household-style power outlet,

a heated steering wheel, ventilated and massaging front seats,

heated second-row seats, a power-folding third-row, automatic

high-beam headlights, forward collision alert with automatic

braking, front parking sensors, a following distance indicator, lane

keep assist, lane departure warning, and a safety alert seat.

Many of the same options and packages from previous trims are

available. AWD costs $2,300 with the Premium trim.

Buick Enclave Avenir

The top-of-the-line Avenir trim has a starting MSRP of $53,800. It

gains many of the options listed above, as well as an 8-inch

customizable driver display, wireless device charging, and a wood-

trimmed steering wheel.

AWD costs an additional $2,300 for Avenir models. Exclusive to

this trim is the Avenir Technology package, which gives you a

retuned chassis and suspension, upgraded automatic emergency

braking, and adaptive cruise control for $2,095.
